Airbrush tan Art

"As Real as it Gets"

Pamper The Skin Your In...

Airbrush tanning does not protect your skin from UV rays. Always wear a sunscreen. Airbrush tanning is a revolutionary way to get a natural looking sun kissed tan without the UV damage caused by the sun. It is not a dye - the active ingredient is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), an all natural sugar by product and is FDA approved. It is a year-round - and healthier - alternative to baking in the sun or using tanning beds. Airbrush tanning does not protect your skin from UV rays. Always wear a sunscreen.

Remember friends dont let friends go to tanning beds.

Air-brush is Unique for all other Tanning Processes
Tanning solution is air-brushed, not sprayed on the skin- the DHA then works with the proteins and enzymes in the top layer of the skin to create each individual's own beautiful, sunless tan. Utilizing the very best technology available, we will custom blend your color from 10 Award Winning formulas. These solutions will leave you looking naturally sun kissed. Free of any red, yellow or brassy hues, like a beautiful bronzed god or goddess. Whether you want a light glow or a deep dark tan, the custom blended formula will look great on you.
The application takes place in a private room in which you are invited to be as modest as you choose. Whether you elect to cover up or you yearn for a completely lineless look, you'll emerge beautifully bronze. The DHA solution must remain on the skin for a minimum of 8 hours preferably 12 hours, after which it may be showered off.
The average tan lasts about a week. Each tan will fade differently due to many factors including dryness of skin, after tan skin care, the amount of time spent in water or exercising, and the skin's own rate of exfoliation.

Preparing for your airbrush tan

  • Exfoliate well a few days before if possible, especially if you are prone to dry skin, and moisturize well for a week before. DO NOT MOISTURIZE on the day you come in for your tan. Exfoliation is a crucial element to achieving an even and longer lasting airbrush tan.
  • Wear loose clothing after your tan- tight clothing or shoes may dislodge the tanning solution even if you are completely dry when leaving, sweats, shorts and flip flops work great. If you wear shorts, it is a good idea to bring an old towel for you to sit on for the ride home. The cosmetic bronzer may rub off on clothing, however it will wash out of most fabrics except for nylons and silks. Choose dark clothing, or something old to be tanned in as solution can stain clothing.
  • Wear you hair back or in a pony tail.
  • Don't wear makeup, lotions, deodorant or other body products before your tanning. These act as a barrier to the spray.
  • Shave- at least 10 hours before your airbrush tanning session.
  • Wax- at least 12 hours before your airbrush tanning session.
  • Facials-  There should be at least 24 hours in between getting a facial and an airbrush tan. Facial comes first, so the pores have time to close. Longer may be recommended if a deep cleanse facial was performed.
  • Manicures and Pedicures can be completed the same day, as long as lotions are not used.

Maintaining Your Airbrush Tan

Give your tan about 8 to 12 hours before showering, exercising or otherwise getting wet. Do not be surprised when you see the color guide (cosmetic bronzer) of the solution wash down the drain - it is NOT your tan. Your own natural sun kissed tan will be underneath.

Moisturize your skin regularly after tanning - avoid Dove products or products that contain mineral oil as they may cause early fading.

Pamper the skin your in after you have an airbrushed tan. After showering, use a gentle patting motion rather than rubbing your skin dry.

Expect products with glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy and other "exfoliating" ingredients to also prematurely fade your tan. these products are made to exfoliate skin and anything that exfoliates skin will also take your tan with it.

Avoid long, hot showers and baths. Water makes your skin soft and will make it exfoliate quicker, thereby shortening the length of your tan. Avoid scrubbing your skin excessively. Pat instead of rubbing your skin dry.

Chlorine will bleach some of your tan's color. Spend limited time in a chlorinated pool or Jacuzzi. Rinse off well after swimming.

For best results, use our own skin care line when maintaining our tan. These specifically formulated products will help you develop and maintain healthy skin and a gorgeous tan.

Things that affect the length of your tan

 Skin condition:
Some people have dryer skin and flake a lot, some don't. Oily skin will retain a tan longer than dry skin.
 Exfoliation:
If you did not exfoliate properly, your tan may start to flake much sooner than it should. Since the chemical process affects only the top layer of skin, as your skin sloughs off, your tan can go with it. Your skin must be smooth and clean to get a smooth, clean tan. The more you tan, the easier it is to see the skin you need to exfoliate.
 Tight clothing:
Any piece of clothing that generally chafes the skin will cause the skin and the tan to rub off with it. This also applies to the foot area and shoes.
After obtaining your base tan, you can generally get by with tanning once a week. The longer and more regularly a client tans, the better the tanning effect will wear.

Tips

Get in the habit of moisturizing your skin morning and night between tanning sessions.
The time of year will affect your skin, and therefore, your tan. As your skin changes with the seasons, you will need to keep dry skin moisturized.
Long hot baths or showers are death to tans (but great for preparing to exfoliate). The skin soaks and softens with length of time exposed and speeds up the exfoliation process.

Healing extremely dry Skin

Get your Omegas.
Incorporating the essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6 into the cell membranes is one way to combat dry skin. You can take a supplement or get them through foods.
Use a good, moisturizing cleanser.
Some ingredients are much harsher than others.
Lubricate your skin.
After showering, pat dry with a clean, soft towel. Do not rub because this only tends to irritate dry skin. Then apply a moisturizing lotion to trap the water in.
Turn down the thermostat.
Think of the dry, parched heat baked desert floor as opposed to the smooth, malleable soil of the forest.
Use a humidifier and get more plants.
Place humidifiers throughout the house. Plants (well watered!) help to keep moisture in the air.
Take a bath.
Spending a few minutes soaking in lukewarm water every other day or at least two times a week will revitalize your skin. Do not use hot water and do not over-soak.

Removing the Tan
If you did not exfoliate well, had dry patches or your tan is at the end of it's life, you may want to get it off. Here are a few tips.
For small areas:
Use an exfoliating glove with an exfoliant or baking soda. This usually does a great job of removing spray tan. If you have done this and not all has come off, a little bit of lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide will do the trick. If you are still left with a spot you don't like, mineral makeup is the secret! Use it to blend
For entire body:
If you had a darker tan, it may get patchy at the end of it's life.

The easiest way to remove all the tan is to moisturize your body with baby oil. Leave this on for a couple of hours and then have a hot bath. Grab one an exfoliating glove or loofah, pour on exfoliating gel and scrub everything off. Now your skin is prepared for your next tan!
